There is the Squirrel life stream, the Raven life stream, the Pigeon life stream, the Deer life stream, the Turtle life stream and so forth. Patterns of learning and overall species growth for the Squirrel life stream, for instance, could include qualities attributed to Squirrel as a Animal Totem and Power Animal. Patterns of learning and overall species growth for the Squirrel life stream may include qualities attributed to Squirrel as a totem like achieving balanced cycles of rest and activity, preparedness for any contingency, watchful alertness and long range planning for conservation of resources for future needs. These were all well known Squirrel Animal Totem characteristics that seem to be common to Squirrels as Power Animals in general. Once a Nature Spirit (who has embodied as a Squirrel and become attached to the Squirrel life stream or Squirrel consciousness morphic field has mastered the basic archetypal blueprints for Squirrelishness she or he moves on to developing higher states of Squirrel Consciousness. A Red Squirrel like the mythic Heathenry World Tree Animal Totem called Ratatoskr would have moved way beyond basic survival and belongingness needs to become more self actualized as an emissary messenger between realms. Such advanced development of Squirrelishness along a progressive evolutionary continuum suggested not only individual sentience but also a continuation of personal spiritual identity from Squirrel embodiment to Squirrel embodiment or from lifetime to lifetime.
In the small grove outside where I used to live in Northeast Florida, there were at least four Gray Squirrels that scampered through the trees and delighted in the raw peanuts put out for them. One of the gray squirrels came up the stairs when the door was opened to feed the birds and sat back on her haunches with her paws placed together in an Eastern form of greeting. When some peanuts were placed in front of her, she reached down and held one of them up and gazed at it as if it was the greatest of all treasures. The local blue jays, crackles, crows and ravens were also partial to the peanuts, so another of the squirrels, who did not like competition, requested telepathically for some peanuts to be placed for him under a distant bush. Yet another of the squirrels had a totally different personality. That squirrel was very shy and sent telepathic messages from the trees but would not descend to the ground until there was nobody nearby. So although each of the resident squirrels exhibited behavior that could be characterized as Squirrelish, such as playing tail tag with each other around the tree trunk, each one of the squirrels also had uniquely distinctive traits and qualities such as appreciative friendliness or quaint aloofness. One of the squirrels, who went by the name Rauwynne, took on the role of intermediary or messenger between realms. There was a circular Fairy Ring around the bush where birdseed was sprinkled each day. When it grew colder outside, during what was a relatively mild wintry season in Northeast Florida, Rauwynne sent a telepathic message from the Fairies that they wanted a sanctuary prepared for them inside.
So a cubicle in my home office bookcase was
cleaned out. Then a large amethyst cluster, an apophyllite pyramid and a
seashell were placed inside of the cubicle for the Fairies cooler weather retreat. When I
went outside the next morning, I was surprised to see that a large mushroom had
appeared overnight in the grass.
