The Mystical Folklore Website Architect and Article Writer is Maureen Grace Burns who has done extensive research into ancient civilizations, world religions, spirituality, angelic orders, and living myth goddesses and gods.
She has a BA in Psychology
from Rutgers University and a MPA in Policy Analysis from George Washington
University. Maureen Grace has worked in diverse occupations as an Air Force
Intelligence Officer, Employment Specialist, Licensed Massage Therapist, Flower
Essence Practitioner, Sales Associate, Business Administration, Writer,
Webmaster, and Counselor.
A highly sensitive, mystical empath and intuitive knower, she can examine and
discuss your current issues, recurrent problems, and lifetime themes with you in
a deeply meaningful and creatively constructive way. A more expanded version of the Mystical Folklore Mentor in her own voice follows that includes personal Early Remembrances; Education and Training; Employment Highlights, Specialized Skills, and Traditions and Readings.
Coming from the Tuatha dé Danann lineage I was regaled with fairytales and stories about the wee folk at bedtime. My mother was also a big fan of all of the Grail Legends. I remember receiving Tennyson's Idylls of the Kings from her for a birthday present. I was a big Nancy Drew Mysteries fan and read the entire series, as well as, biographies about historical figures.
At one point in time, I remember that I had read
everything in the children's section but still had many years to go before I
would be able to take books out from the adult section of the library. Oh well,
there were so many television shows like Mr. Ed. the talking horse, and
Bewitched now available on the television to watch. My parents were big fans of
Lawrence Welk, Ed Sullivan, and Perry Mason. My mother was a big fan of Walt
Disney movies, particularly of "The Lady and the Tramp.".
I was raised a Roman
Catholic and attended parochial schools until I was fifteen. From kindergarten
through the eighth grade, I was taught by the Franciscan priests and nuns so the
emphasis was on reverence for nature, especially birds and trees. the angels,
and Mother Mary. We celebrated all of the holidays at school with cake and
ice-cream etc., especially Halloween and Valentine's day. My mother's favorite
costume that she made me for Halloween was that of a witch with a pointy hat and
red mop for my hair. Personally I would have rather been a fairy princess.
At that time Oaklyn was a small town akin to the
paintings of the illustrator Norman Rockwell with one policeman who stood at the
traffic light at lunchtime to help the children cross the street. There was a
small lake at the end of the street where I lived and a forest. The area was
also surrounded by farms and orchards...
