Daírmuid (Diarmuid, Diarmait, Dermot) was a Celtic forest lore and fertility triple god. "Dermot of the Love Spot", he had a spot on his forehead that caused women to fall in love with him whenever it was not hidden by his hair. Under a geise to always help women who asked for his assistance, he went on a legendary journey at the behest of the Hight King's daughter, Grainne who loved him instead of the giant warrior she was betrothed to by her father. There are dolmens in Ireland that commemorate the lovers. "Radiant Browed Lovable Druid", "Charming Curly Locked Hunter", and "Wise Ruddy Cheeked Raven Friend", the cauldron womb of song was fashioned in his memory. A gifted shaman, bardic wizard, song magician, and wisdom crafter, Daírmuid gifted the people with "Deoch Dearmaid" a drink of forgetfulness that enabled them to forgive those who had wronged them, as well as, a woodland home with seven gateway doors to Otherworld knowledge.
Daírmuid keeps the
transmutation keys for the ogham writings, rune lore, and tree teachings and
shows the way through the open mythos seal.
The Sacred Site focal points of Hierarch Dairmuid and the Fifth Ray of Rainbow Healing are the Morris Arboretum of the University of Pennsylvania, which is located on East Northwestern Avenue in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, U.S.A.; and, the Drombeg Stone Circle, which is located in County Cork, Ireland. Encompassing 92 acres (37 hectares), the Morris Arboretum was founded by John and Lydia Morris in the 1880s. Designed with Asian touches in a mature park style landscape, the estate became a public arboretum in 1933. Morris Arboretum is home to over 2,500 kinds of plants from around the globe including a collection of Chinese plantings dating back to 1900. Seventeen of the trees in the arboretum have been noted as outstanding specimens. There are major collections of indigenous azaleas, cherries, conifers, dogwood, hollies, magnolias, maples, roses, and witch hazels. The thirteen thousand plus labeled plants are representative of Asian, European, and North American temperate flora.
