Druidry Druid Druidic Treelore
Hallowed Symbols and Holy Ground
Some of these blessed countryside settings were further enhanced for ceremonial connectivity purposes by the addition of Megalithic Standing Stones, Passage Cairns, and Stone Circles.
The weathered limestone "Rollright Stones", for example, are located on a prehistoric trackway near the village of Chipping Norton about a mile from the town of Long Compton.
In the past, "The King's Men Stone Circle", "The King Stone", and the megalithic tomb known as "The Whispering Knights" were considered "Holy Ground" by the local peoples because of their mysterious purpose and their pagan powers.
A sense of mystical magic, of timeless transcendence, and of "Wyrd Wisdom" envelopes this ancient site, lending some credence to the large collection of folklore and legendary tales involving kings, witches, and fairies associated with the stones.
A repository for Earth
Goddess knowledge and strength, this planetary Druid's wheel of alternating
female/male charged stones, concentric circles with spokes of radiant light
energy, and rainbow spirit path guidelines, forms the regenerative transition
portal for the "Once and Future k-Ing" energies.

Two avenues of megaliths (Beckhampton Avenue and Kennet Avenue), with alternating pillar shaped (masculine) stones and diamond shaped (feminine) stones, connected with the circle.
The male/female imagery of
the megalithic shapes reflected the reverence the local peoples had for Nature's
Ways, as well as, all aspects of the local landscape, like the springs at
Swallowhead between nearby Silbury Hill and the West Kennet Long Barrow...
