Hermes Mercury Gibil (Gerra, Mercurius, Oneicopompus, Psychopompus) was Hermes an Egyptian and Greek messenger god, who was most noted for his swift consciousness. Revered from around 800 BCE - 400 ACE, he was mentioned in the Homer Iliad, Odyssey, and Hesiod Theogony. Hermes was portrayed in classical art holding the kerykeion, magical herald's staff comprised of entwined snakes, and wearing gold winged sandals. Some prehistoric phallic figured boundary markers were associated with him, as well as, cairns and wayside shrine. Hermes was venerated at Pheneos in Arcadia. He was also depicted on a Pantheon frieze. The skillful and dexterous patron of alchemists, commerce, esoteric scholars, gymnasts, shepherds, and travellers, Hermes was also a guardian of boundaries and graves.

intuitive magickian, pious sage, and wisdom psychologist, he was also had
considerable shamanic journeying abilities.
Hermes was an extremely complex, mutable, and versatile individual with a penchant for solving puzzling perplexities and for transforming by reconciling opposites. Hermes was later portrayed by the Romans as the winged footed Mercury. As Mercury (Mercurius, Oneicopompus, Psychopompus), he was revered as a psychopomp messenger god from around 400 BCE - 400 ACE. Venerated at the Circus Maximus in Rome, Mercury was mentioned in the Virgil Aeneid. He was also depicted in carvings and sculptures. The primary yearly festival that honored him was the Mercuralia, which was held in Rome in May. An embodiment of the wind, he was credited with using a tortoise shell to create the first lyre. As Oneicopompus, Mercury oversaw the world of dreams. As Psychopompus, Mercury guided souls after death. Mercury also had a winged caduceus rod that was empowered with the ability to resolve arguments and disagreements. He also was portrayed wearing "talaria" winged sandals and a petasus cap.
Hermes also travelled and
sojourned in Mesopotamia where he was known as the Sumerian god Gibil and the
Akkadian god Gerra, who was a Fire and Light god who protected others against
