The baptism of Jesus Christ in the Jordan River by John the Baptist signaled the beginning of his public ministry. Afterwards he meditated for forty days in the wilderness then returned to Nazareth before moving on to Capernaum where he selected his first disciples.

From there he traveled to neighboring towns preaching, teaching in parables, healing, and performing miracles. Three years later on the Sunday before the Passover, Jesus Christ entered Jerusalem where he was met by crowds of people who acclaimed him the Messiah.

The next Wednesday when Jesus Christ was in Bethany, the scribes and priests in Jerusalem conspired with his disciple Judas to arrest and kill Jesus Christ by stealth. Thursday evening after Jesus had retired to the Garden of Gethsemane, he was arrested by a crowd sent by the religious authorities.

On Friday he was executed by crucifixion at Golgotha at the behest of the Jewish Sanhedrin for blasphemy against the religions tenets of Judaism. Later that day because of the approach of Sabbath, when burial was not permitted, his body was taken down and laid in a nearby tomb.

On Sunday morning the tomb was found empty since Jesus had risen from the dead, giving humanity hope of life after death. The Four Gospels and the Epistles of St. Paul tell of how Jesus rose from the dead.

When holy women carrying spices to anoint his body arrived before dawn at the sepulcher where he was laid after the crucifixion, they found the stone rolled back and the interior empty. Jesus then instructed his disciples for another forty days before he ascended into the heavens. Afterwards the resurrected Jesus Christ appeared to many people including the holy women, and the apostles.

From the parables of Christ we know that he taught his disciples to be loving, tolerant, kind-hearted and merciful. He taught them not to cast stones at others unless they themselves where free from all blemish and sin. He taught them to do until others as they would have others do unto them. He taught them to be good Samaritans. He taught them to treat their neighbors they way they would like others to treat them.

He taught them to be compassionate by feeding the hungry and healing the sick. He taught them to have faith in the goodness of the underlying fabric of Creation. He taught them how to cast out demons and how to put Satan behind them. He taught them about angels and how to pray.

Perhaps one of his most spiritual Heaven on Earth teachings was the Beatitudes. Jesus Christ began his Sermon of the Mount with eight sacred blessings for Christians to offset prior curses.

These poetic parallelisms of Christianity are: "Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven; Blessed are the meek: for they shall possess the land; Blessed are they who mourn: for they shall be comforted; Blessed are they that hunger and thirst after justice: for they shall have their fill; Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy; Blessed are the clean of heart: for they shall see God; Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God; Blessed are they that suffer persecution for justice's sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven"...
